Buying and selling the Star Tribune, part 2
Yesterday I noted Bruce Kesler's look at the poor journalistic performance of the Star Tribune on important local stories with respect to which we have written at length. I noted in passing the valuable real estate that the purchaser of the Star Tribune (Avista Partners) acquired along with the core newspaper holding for the purchase price of $530 million. Today at Democracy Project Bruce looks at the real estate component of the sale in "Creative destruction of newspaper industry." He also points to an interesting article (subscription required) by Gregory Zuckerman regarding Avista Partners in today's Wall Street Journal.
