A forgotten Democratic constituency pipes up
The Politico reports that some on the religious left are unhappy with John Edwards for deciding to retain as his bloggers the foul anti-Catholic bigot, Amanda Marcotte, and her sidekick. For example, Brian O'Dwyer, an Irish-American leader who chairs the National Democratic Ethnic Leadership Council, says that not firing the two is "not only wrong morally – it's stupid politically."
That would be true if Edwards were a serious national candidate. If he's a desperate underdog clinging to an extremist anti-Catholic base, then maybe not.
