Obey apologies for yelling at liberal idiots, blames Bush
Rep. David Obey said he is "sorry" that "he yelled" at the antiwar contingent with whom he had an unpleasant confrontation this morning. Obey blames the war, stating:
We are both frustrated, and that led us to have an argument that we never should have had. . . .This is just another example of how Americans have become needlessly and painfully divided on a war that I have opposed from the beginning and that the President should never have misled us into.
Peggy Noonan was closer to the mark a while back when she wrote that elected officials on both sides tend to dislike members of their party's base, but liberal elected officials find them "barking mad."
