The Imams Meet Their Match, Part II

March 23, 2007 Posted by John at 7:43 AM

My law partner Gerry Nolting struck a powerful chord when he stepped forward with his offer to defend any of the "John Doe" passengers who may be sued by the Traveling Imams, for free. This morning, it continues to reverberate; the Washington Times Insider reports:

The blogs are buzzing about our Audrey Hudson’s reporting today on a Muslim group and lawyers’ offers to help passengers defend themselves if they are named as defendants in the “flying imams” lawsuit.

Hotair says:

“Faegre & Benson is no boutique midwestern law firm. It’s one of the most prestigious in the country. And according to WashTimes, they’re not the only lawyers who have come forward and offered to work on this pro bono.”

And Common Sense America calls it “refreshing to see Muslim American groups, such as Dr. Jasser’s, speaking out against this intimidation-through-your-own-court-system attempt by the imams and CAIR.”

911 Families for America says:

“We need to start by protecting the millions of passengers who fly each day, those who report suspicious activity, and our first responders in the air, the flight crews. Federal law should be enacted that says if someone, acting in good faith, reports or acts upon reports of suspicious behavior or items in airports or aboard a plane, they are not subject to civil liability. Thousands of lawyers will scream ‘bloody murder’ about such legislation yet thousands of people screamed for real while they were being murdered on 9/11.”
