Test pattern

I attended nursery school at Temple Beth El in Fargo, North Dakota. I remember the teacher (the excellent Mrs. Mullenbein) and one other student — Maimon Schwarzschild. Maimon was clearly the smartest kid in the class. He had a bit of a British accent that derived from his mother, so he sounded smart to begin with. In show and tell, as I recall, when other students reported the shows they’d been viewing on television that morning, Maimon reported: “I watched test pattern.” He didn’t need much in the way of entertainment.
Maimon is now professor of law at the University of San Diego and a blogger at The Right Coast. Bruce Kesler reflects on one of Maimon’s recent posts in “PostMo versus MoGo.”
