Free Lewis Libby

Patrick Fitzgerald’s absurd investigation should have been shut down when the source of the leak that gave rise to the investigation was identified as Richard Armitage. The investigation has been a key component of the bureaucratic war on the Bush administration. President Bush should now put an end to the Libby front of the war by pardoning Lewis Libby. The editors of National Review weigh in here, Bill Kristol here, and Libby’s supporters are quoted in Josh Gerstein’s New York Sun article here.
