At last year’s annual meeting of the Los Angeles chapter of the Republican Jewish Coalition, Ken Mehlman described the making of a Natan Sharansky Republican (Mehlman himself). Last Sunday, as Rick Richman recounts in his excellent report on this year’s annnual meeting of the chapter, Sharansky was the guest of honor. Sharansky’s speech was followed by our friend Hugh Hewitt‘s (photo above), portions of which Rick has transcribed in his post. In a message to us this morning, Rick describes Hugh’s speech as “a masterly combination of his trademark passion, erudition and optimism.”
