Reading Dartmouth’s 1891 Agreement

Yesterday Dartmouth carried an important column by Dartmouth trustee Todd Zywicki. The powers-that-be at Dartmouth are laying the groundwork for a power grab of major proportions as they apparently seek to reduce or eliminate the traditional role played by Dartmouth alumni in selecting half the college’s trustees. To prepare the battlefield, chairman of the board Ed Haldeman has questioned the validity of the 1891 agreement under which alumni have exercised their voting rights.
