John Derbyshire describes himself as a pagan. He is vexed (to borrow one of the words he uses in his review) by Robert Spencer’s defense of Christianity and critique of Islam in Spencer’s new book Religion of Peace? Why Cbristianity Is and Islam Isn’t. He goes so far as to suggest that “there is something a bit infantile behind it all.” Yet it is Derbyshire who comes off a bit jejune in the review. Elsewhere on Pajamas Media Spencer speaks for himself in a brief interview with Richard Miniter here.
Diana West’s new book is The Death of the Grown-Up: How America’s Arrested Development Is Bringing Down Western Civilization. Andrew Bostom reviews West’s book in today’s Washington Times. Bostom’s perspective is akin to Spencer’s and West’s. Indeed, Bostom’s review of Spencer’s book last week provides a counterpoint to Derbyshire’s. Last month we asked Diana West to speak for herself about her new book, an invitation which she accepted here.
UPDATE: Robert Spencer enjoyed Derbyshire’s review. More power to both of ’em.
