CAIRing for Jihad

We haven’t caught up with news of the indictment of the two Egyptian students found with explosives near a Navy base in South Carolina. It turns out that the two were students at Sami al-Arian’s old stomping grounds at the University of South Florida. Both upon their arrest and their indictment, as Chalres Johnson has pointed out, CAIR’s Ahmed Bedier has spoken up on their behalf.
Bedier was of course the unofficial media spokesman for al-Arian, the North American leader of the Palestininan Islamic Jihad. At the Counterterrorism Blog, Walid Phares comments on the CAIR connection and the need for analysis of the jihadist ideololgy that seems to bring CAIR together with the indicted USF students.
