Professor Pausch’s last lecture

In “A beloved professor delivers the lecture of a lifetime,” we drew attention to Jeffrey Zaslow’s Wall Street Journal column on Professor Randy Pausch. Reader Rob Wiles alerts us to the video of Professor Pausch’s last lecture that has been posted by Professor Pausch’s colleagues at Carnegie-Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center. Watching the video one can see that Professor Pausch is not only a beloved professor, to borrow from the Journal’s headline, but also a beloved son, husband, father, colleague and student. For example, Professor Pausch’s mentor at Brown University — to whom Professor Pausch attributes one of the particularly important lessons he learned — appears in the last few minutes of the video to pay tribute to his former student. The video lasts about 90 minutes and is worth watching if you have the time.
