The lies of J. Lorand Matory

We have previously written about the unseemly preoccupation of Harvard’s J. Lorand Matory in “A Faustian bargain” and in “The ordeal of J. Lorand Matory.” Now comes Hillel Stavis, proprietor of the (now closed) WordsWorth bookstore, who was the victim of a recent sliming by Professor Matory. Unfortunately for Professor Matory, Stavis was in the audience and did not take kindly to Matory’s liberties with the truth. Stavis tells the remarkable story in “Confrontation at Harvard: Defa-Matory and out to lunch” (complete with audio). Stavis writes:
