A journalist writes from Los Angeles that he has received a call soliciting money on behalf of Al Franken’s Minnesota Senate campaign. Franken hasn’t yet received the Democratic endorsement to run against Minnestoa incumbent Senator Norm Coleman, but Franken is already running against him for purposes of fundraising.
Our friend notes that Franken is calling for money in the 323/310 area codes. He writes that the pitch was “your basic slam against all Republicans.” He recounts the pitch roughly as follows:
