Gaffe to the rescue?

The dead end down which President Bush and Condoleezza Rice have led the United States in diplomatic maneuvers addressing the Arab-Israeli conflict has many manifestations, one vivid example of which is President Bush’s request for $150 million in funding to the Palestinian Authority. Joel Mowbray reports on the role that Mahmoud Abbas’s Arab-language “gaffe” (i.e., “what happens when the spin breaks down”) is playing in congressional consideration of the Bush administration’s aid request.
