Remember?

Tom Rush established himself as a folk/rock/blues artist on Elektra in the sixties. His work on Elektra culminated in “The Circle Game,” the moving 1968 album that introduced the songs of Jackson Browne, James Taylor, and Joni Mitchell. It also led to a run of four good albums by Rush on Columbia.
The Harvard Magazine profile of Rush (Harvard ’63) provides an informative look at his career. If Rush has ever recorded a mediocre track, I haven’t heard it. Although I think of him as a cult favorite, his take on “Remember Song” by Steven Walters is approaching 3,500,000 views on YouTube. One of Rush’s gifts is finding (and occasionally writing) songs with which his audience can identify.
