Former assistant attorney general Jim Robinson objects to the government’s terror watch list because it mistakenly included him and, as he explained at an ACLU press conference yesterday, “significantly interferes with my travel arrangements.” He added: “I suppose if I were convinced that America is a safer place because I get hassled at the airport, I might put up with it. But I doubt it.” Well, alright then.
Robinson joined another self-proclaimed member of the watch list at the ACLU press conference to urge elimination of the watch list. With its customary accuracy, the ACLU predicted the watch list would include one million names as early as Monday. Audrey Hudson and Ben Conery report in today’s Washington Times that, according to officials at the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice, the ACLU is only off by 600,000 names.
