Evertonian fires Nigeria level with the U.S.

Everton’s young gun Victor Anichebe scored the winning goal for the Nigerian Olympic team in a 2-1 victory against Japan. The victory put Nigeria level with the U.S. on points in their qualifying group, with Holland lurking dangerously behind them. The U.S. failed to clinch a berth in the next round when Holland scored a late equalizer in their match.

As I understand it, the U.S. will still advance with a draw or a win in their final group stage match against Nigeria, which we be played tomorrow. We had better beware of Vic, though.
