Arnold on the Stump

Yesterday in Columbus, Ohio, Arnold Schwarzenegger warmed up the crowd for John McCain. He did an unbelievably good job; you can watch it below. The most memorable lines were probably these:

John McCain served longer in a POW camp than his opponent has in the United States Senate. Ladies and gentlemen, I only play an action hero in my movies, but John McCain is a real action hero.

But the video is worth watching in its entirety. What is really striking is how effectively Schwarzenegger goes after Obama’s anti-growth tax policies. No one is more inspiring than Arnold when he talks about America as the land of opportunity, and no one is better at explaining why liberal policies are anti-opportunity. I was once part of a small group that heard Arnold expound on these themes; no one in public life does it more eloquently or with more conviction.

My only regret is that we haven’t had Arnold on the stump for the last month or two.
