Professor Wilfred McClay holds down the SunTrust Bank Chair of Excellence in Humanities at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he is also Professor of History. In April, on the occasion of the 265th anniversary of Thomas Jefferson’s birth, President Bush called on Wilfred McClay to speak on Jefferson. We posted Professor McClay’s remarks here.

The Heritage Foundation has now posted Professor Wilfred McClay’s wide-ranging and thoughtful essay “The idea of change in American politics.” It’s an that serves to illuminate themes of the past campaign that will be playing themselves out in the days ahead.
