She said she said

She said, I know what it's like to want to be a senator, and not be able to say when it dawned on you that you aspired to hold higher office. She told the New York Times reporters in their extended interview with her that she wishes she could think of the moment and will give the question a little more thought.

The Times, incidentally, first described Kennedy in the headline over the article recounting the interview as "eloquent but elusive." One now finds her described as "forceful but elusive." She was "eloquent" in her own way, as was the Times. Neither was "forceful."

She said "you know." She said it a lot, like an airhead, especially in the brutally accurate account of her interview with the New York Daily News. Listening to the audio of the interview thoughtfully posted by the News together with the article on it, however, I have to say it reminded me of Mark Twain's description of Wagner's music. It's not as bad as it sounds.
