UPDATE: Andy McCarthy connects Judge Sotomayor's "what is a liberal" dodge to her attempt to rebut Justice O'Connor's claim that wise judges will not disagree with one another based on gender differences by arguing (per Martha Minow) that there is no universal definition of "wise." Andy concludes:
I suspect we're in for a lot of "it all depends on what the definition if is is." Or maybe we should update and call it "rejecting the false choice between 'yes' and 'no.'"
