What about the Biden crisis?

Speaking in Seattle to campaign contributors behind closed doors this past October, Joe Biden all but endorsed John McCain for president: “Mark my words,” Biden warned the assembled supporters. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”
It was an interesting assessment that shortchanged Biden himself. What about the problems created by Biden’s propensity to blurt the truth? In his own peculiar way, Joe Biden “tests the mettle of this guy” too. James Lileks counts the ways in “Joe Biden’s terrible truths.”
