Health Care Debacle Spurs Candidate Recruitment

The Democrats’ push to ram government medicine down our throats has led to one of the best Republican candidate recruitment years ever. Byron York reports “As Dems struggle, GOP candidates line up to run.”

House GOP leaders believe [this] is the best class of new candidates in many years. “So far, our successful recruitment efforts have helped produce over 95 top GOP recruits,” says Rep. Kevin McCarthy, who is leading the recruitment drive for the National Republican Congressional Committee. And those are just the hot prospects in potentially winnable districts; there will also be Republican challengers for even the safest Democratic seats.

A remarkable 31 of these candidates come from the medical professions, and 24 are doctors. Too bad the Democrats aren’t trying to socialize the legal industry. Then lawyers would switch to the Republicans en masse, and return the GOP to its former glory.
