Shoe Bomber, Redux?

Breaking news: an attempted shoe bomber reportedly was stopped by air marshals on a flight from D.C. to Denver tonight. This is ominous:

ABC News identified the suspect as a diplomat from the Qatar embassy in Washington.

A diplomat from a moderate Muslim country tries to blow up an airliner? The Obama administration would have us believe that this has nothing to do with ideology, and that there is no pattern here.
SCOTT adds: It fits a pattern: The guy’s first name was Mohammed. But according to the latest version of the story, he was apparently sneaking a smoke in the bathroom and joking about being a shoe bomber.
