Car Bomb in Times Square

A Nissan parked and left running in Times Square was found to be a car bomb, with the intent incendiary rather than explosive. It isn’t yet clear how dangerous the device, which featured propane tanks, was, nor do authorities have any idea who was behind the attempted attack. Jules Crittenden hazards a guess:

Authorities don’t seem to have a clue who did it. But as is the fashion, I’m going to guess. In the interests of political correctitude, I’m going with a homegrown right-wing fringe Tea Party racist nut case named Mohammed.

Time will, no doubt, tell.

UPDATE: The Taliban in Pakistan is taking the blame for the attack. It looks as though the Taliban’s YouTube video was recorded before the attack took place and anticipated that it would be successful, which if I’m interpreting this correctly, makes the claim credible.
