Collective Bargaining Is A Fiscal Issue

Poll data suggest that a plurality of Badgers and Americans support Scott Walker and Wisconsin’s Republicans on the budget, but don’t support them on collective bargaining. This suggests confusion on the part of some voters: Wisconsin’s budget crisis, like that in a number of other states, stems from the structural imbalance that results from the government-supported power of the public employee unions. The budget issue cannot be solved without addressing the collective bargaining issue.
For some good illustrations of this proposition, check out Part 3 of Governor Walker’s series, Collective Bargaining is a Fiscal Issue. And spread the word: to get a handle on the budget of Wisconsin and other states, as most voters want, it is necessary to break the power of the out-of-control public employee unions.
