Over at Ricochet Paul Rahe recalls his friend Patrick Leigh Fermor. Who is Patrick Leigh Fermor? Looking at his Wikipedia entry, I find that a BBC reporter once described Fermor as “a cross between Indiana Jones, James Bond and Graham Greene.” Professor Rahe brings Fermor back to life in “Patrick Leigh Fermor: A memoir.” Professor Rahe not only brings his recently deceased friend to life, he also draws attention to the books that will survive Fermor’s death.
