Critique of Pure Newt

Weekly Standard senior editor Andrew Ferguson was commissioned by the New York Times Magazine to read all 21 books (excluding the Contract with America and a coffee-table book on Ronald Reagan) that make up the Gingrich oeuvre and to comment on them. Given the size of the corpus, Andy’s report is surprisingly brief. It is also funny and cruel.

Andy’s essay on Newt’s works follows on his Weekly Standard essays on 2008 campaign books and on “The literary Obama.”
