Turban Durbin’s Stimulus Package Goes Limp

“Turban Durbin” is the moniker Illinois’s far-left Democratic Senator Dick Durbin acquired when he compared U.S. troops in Iraq to Nazis back around 2005.  No need to flog that hobby horse again.  Better is his moaning in the Puffington Host today that the debt ceiling deal spells the end of Keynesianism.  Sayeth the Turban-man:

“I would say … that symbolically, that agreement is moving us to the point where we are having the final interment of John Maynard Keynes,” he said, referring to the British economist. “He nominally died in 1946 but it appears we are going to put him to his final rest with this agreement.”

We can only hope he is unintentionally correct, for a change.

But the best part of the post is the deliciously hideous photo of Durbin that the folks ran with the piece, reproduced here.  Does this not capture his character rather well? Why would the PuffHo do this to him, unless they think (rightly) that he’s a loser?

P.S.  I’ll be returning to the States tomorrow, and will get back to a more regular blogging schedule.
