The Occupier crime wave has gotten so out of hand that it is hard to keep up with all the outrages. There are a couple of places you can go, however, for current news. The first is Twitter, where if you search #Occupyfail–a hashtag that has been popularized by Glenn Reynolds–you can get up to the minute reports. That is where I learned that London’s Occupiers had tried to set up shop in a new location, Trafalgar Square. But local authorities apparently have had enough:
A bid to set up a new protest camp in Trafalgar Square failed today as police quickly swooped on tents and activists as thousands of students took to the streets to demonstrate against fees.
The camp was set up by a small group which had broken away from the main protest against tuition fees and spending cuts.
Demonstrators marching through central London seemed to be outnumbered by a huge police presence aimed at preventing violence.Protesters carried placards which read ‘Scrap Tuition Fees’ and ‘Free Education’.
Free education? Sure, why not? The taxpayers have plenty of money! Here, policemen haul away some of the protesters’ tents:
The second place you should check daily for Occupier updates is OWS Exposed, where the latest headlines are “Occupiers hack St. Louis mayor’s website – publish political supporter information,” “Denver occupiers elect a dog as their leader,” “Death #3 – this time in New Orleans,” and “Sacramento homeless to occupiers: ‘give us our park back.'”
Who imagined that in the 21st century we would be living through this sort of madness? Not me, that’s for sure.
