Good news for the Romney campaign

The Romney campaign has hired Michael Biundo, who managed Rick Santorum’s presidential campaign. Biundo will be deputy national director of coalitions. His task will be to help unite tea party activists, evangelicals and other conservatives behind Mitt Romney.

By all accounts, Biundo did a fine job of working with these groups on behalf of Rick Santorum. One might have hoped that would rally around Santorum sooner than they did (the subject of an upcoming post). But there is no reason to think that Biundo bears any responsibility for the delay.

Biundo says that he checked with Santorum before agreeing to work for Romney. Santorum gave the move “his full blessing.” The former Pennsylvania is expected to endorse Romney soon.

Let the healing begin.
