UPDATED: Follow the Wisconsin Recall on Power Line Live

UPDATED by Joe: If you tried to get into PL Live earlier, but could not, try again! We just increased our limit.

We are officially launching Power Line Live today. If you missed our preview post, you can check out PL Live by clicking on the “Live” button at the top of our main page, right between “Home” and “About Us.” Or just click here. Some would call PL Live a chat room, but we prefer to think of it as a bar–a neighborhood tavern where you can hang out for a while among friends.

The polls opened in Wisconsin a half hour ago. If you live in Wisconsin, feel free to drop by PL Live any time during the day and record your observations–how many people at your precinct, what mix of voters they seemed to be, the mood in your town, lawn sign counts, and so on. Anyone is welcome to drop in throughout the day and kibitz the election–predict the outcome, comment on its significance, complain about news coverage, or whatever. We’ll probably officially get started around 6 p.m., and at least one or two of us will be there. The polls close in Wisconsin at 8 p.m. central time, and I’m guessing the networks will start calling the election within a half hour or so thereafter. (Yes, I am notoriously an optimist.) So the action will probably be hottest from, say, 7:30 to 9. Once the result is in, we can all celebrate or commiserate, as the case may be. There will be free rounds on the house.

Our hope, obviously, is that PL Live will develop into a fun service for our readers, a place where they can go to chat with like-minded conservatives (and no doubt the occasional liberal interloper, although I understand Caley is a teetotaler and won’t be showing up). If you check out the page and have any questions about how to log in or whatever, we have FAQs and answers posted. So, TTYL, as my daughters say!

UPDATE: One of our PL Live participants links to an exit poll at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that has Walker winning independents 56-42. Let’s hope it’s true!
