The National Rifle Association has decided to throw its considerable weight behind Mitt Romney in this year’s election. That is no surprise; the gun lobby has always viewed Barack Obama and his administration with suspicion. But the NRA says is it “all in” to defeat Obama; we will see what that translates into as the campaign continues.
The NRA has created this Firearms Future page to host videos on this year’s campaign and solicit donations and new members. As you might expect, Fast and Furious is featured prominently. This is the “All In” video:

For a long time I thought of the NRA as a good ally in the conservative movement, without having much personal interest in gun rights. Having taken up sport shooting within the last year, my interest in gun rights has perked up considerably. Yesterday my son and I went shooting with our friend Mitch Berg at Gander Mountain, a really excellent, family friendly environment. My son and I tried out our newest acquisition, a Ruger SR9c, along with our trusty Sig Sauer Mosquito Sport, while Mitch was mostly shooting his Sig P250. We had a blast as always.
So this year, I am following the NRA’s involvement in the presidential campaign with greater interest than previously.
