A trillion-dollar tax increase

I thought one of Mitt Romney’s many effective points in the debate this past Wednesday was his opposition to increasing income tax rates on anyone while we are trying to pull out of the anemic economic recovery in which we have been mired for the past three years. To support his point, and making it more effective, Romney cited Obama himself.

The Obama campaign, however, is not deterred. It is returning to the pitch for class warfare that underlies its advocacy of raising taxes on “the rich,” a/k/a “the super-wealthy,” as in the video below. Yesterday Joe Biden made the pitch in his inimitable style: “We’re gonna ask, yes, we’re gonna ask the wealthy to pay more.” Biden makes the pitch for a trillion-dollar tax increase. Does anyone in his right mind really think this is a good idea?
