If you rely on the national media, you would hardly know about Mitt Romney’s surging campaign. You would think that the big news story is Richard Mourdock’s tripping over his tongue. You likely would be puzzled as to why Romney has now moved past Barack Obama in the polls. But if you live where the candidates are and pay attention to local media, then you know about events like Romney’s blowout appearance at Red Rocks in Colorado. Or, if you live in Iowa, this is what you see in the DesMoines Register:
The Register is a Democratic paper, but its front page is almost an ad for the Romney campaign: note the contrast in the expressions of the two candidates. Also note the actual Romney ad at the bottom of the front page. No wonder swing state voters have moved into Romney’s camp; in today’s Rasmussen survey, Romney holds a steady four-point lead in the swing states, 50%-46%.
STEVE adds: See–I told you the media would start to turn on Obama if they think he’s going to lose.
