Romney Hits the Air Waves

Until now, President Obama has been vastly outspending Mitt Romney on television ads in the swing states. Those of us who were cheered by Romney’s excellent fundraising–he can’t possibly equal, but has actually approached the totals achieved by the Obama money machine–have been waiting impatiently to see that money spent in a visible way. With 30 days to go in the campaign, Romney is hitting the air waves in a big way. This ad, titled “Facts Are Clear,” is great. It focuses on the debt, and the key line–Obama’s not just wasting money, he’s borrowing money, then wasting it–is memorable:

Romney is also running state-specific ads. This one is playing in Ohio and is called “Ohio Jobs:”

This one is playing in Nevada and features former NBA player Greg Anthony. It’s a terrific ad; Anthony says that he voted for Obama in ’08 and thought he was a centrist, but is tired of excuses and doesn’t think we can afford four more years like the last four. Knowing what we know about the Obama campaign, I hope Anthony’s security detail is on its toes:

These are good ads that focus on Obama’s central weakness, his terrible economic record. Let’s hope every swing state voter sees them. Over and over.
