22,000 deserving “favorites” the government decided not to pick

As discussed in the post below, the auto industry bailout is a classic case of crony capitalism, and one which has not accomplished its stated goal of putting General Motors on a sound footing. Nonetheless, the Obama campaign has made the bailout the centerpiece of its efforts to hold the electoral votes of the crucial states of Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

The web ad below, by American Future Fund, counters Team Obama’s narrative on the auto industry bailout by highlighting the decision of the Auto Task Force in Washington, D.C. to shaft 22,000 salaried retirees of the former Delphi Corp. (a longtime GM parts supplier) out of their pensions. The ad is one of the most effective I’ve seen in this cycle. Let’s hope it receives wide viewership, especially in Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
