Hillary Clinton’s false choice

Victor Davis Hanson makes a point that I forgot to include in my most recent post about Hillary Clinton’s “what difference does it make” rant. Clinton testified:

With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night decided to go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make?

But, as Clinton knew by January when she gave this testimony, the attack was a preplanned assault by an al-Qaeda affiliate. It was neither “because of a protest” nor “because. . .guys out for a walk one night decided to kill some Americans.” Thus, as Hanson concludes, more than four months after the fact, Clinton peddled to Congress scenarios that were simply untrue and were designed to mislead.
