Another Nail in the Climate Change Coffin

Murry Salby

John observed here a couple days ago about the rapidly collapsing case for catastrophic global warming, and courtesy of the NoTricksZone, we can take in one of the most devastating and comprehensive critiques of the standard alarmist model by Prof. Murry Salby, who is a climate scientist at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, and author of the textbook Physics of the Atmosphere and Climate, published by Cambridge University Press (last I checked, a “mainstream” publisher).  I had never heard of Salby before, but he clearly knows what he’s talking about.

Back in April Salby argued at Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg that “anthropogenic emissions only had a slight impact on the global CO2-concentrations. They are mainly a consequence of temperature changes.”

As NoTricks summarizes it:

The points of Salby’s presentation lead to the following implications:

– In the Real World global temperature is not controlled exclusively by CO2, as it is in the Model World.

– In significant part, however, CO2 is controlled by Global Temperature, as it is in the Proxy Record.”

At the end of the presentation, Salby implies, quoting Richard Feynman, that CO2 science today can be described as “Cult Science”.

He sums up quoting Feynman: “If it differs from observations, then it’s wrong. That’s all there is to it.”

The video below of Salby’s entire presentation is over an hour long, but well worth it if you have the time.  Or if not, just drop in at a few points at random, and you’ll grasp his mastery of the subject.

I suspect there are a lot more Salbys out there in the sciences in academia.
