No one left to lie to

This was the title of a book by Christopher Hitchens about Bill and Hillary Clinton. But we’re approaching the point where the phrase also applies to Marco Rubio.

Is there a conservative talk show host with whom Rubio has truly leveled about the Schumer-Rubio legislation? He lied to Mark Levin. He dissembled to Sean Hannity, most recently by claiming that he didn’t vote for certain amendments to improve border security because he knew that a “tougher” amendment (that of Sens. Corker and Hoeven) was coming down the pike.

One doesn’t vote against improvements to legislation because other improvements probably are in the offing. Rubio voted against the improvements in question because he and his fellow Gang members didn’t agree with them, probably due to the fact that they wouldn’t have legalized illegal immigrants in advance of improvements in border security.

Now it seems that Rubio lied to Chris Crane, head of the organization that represents the brave men and women who fight, against the odds, to enforce our immigration laws. According to Crane,

Senator Rubio, who promised ICE officers and Sheriffs that he would take steps to repair the bill’s provisions that gut interior enforcement, has abandoned that commitment. He directly misled law enforcement officers.

Oh well.

But there is someone left to whom Rubio has not lied — Chuck Schumer. It appears that Rubio has honored all of his commitments to the left-wing New York Senator.
