Upper Midwest Boxing Fans: Don’t Miss the July 26 Card In Minneapolis

An exciting evening of boxing is on tap for July 26 at the Hyatt Hotel in Minneapolis. In the main event, Phil “the Drill” Williams, a Twin Cities favorite, will take on Derrick Findley in a bout featuring ranked middleweights. It is a good card up and down the line, but our main interest is in the middleweight bout between Corey Rodriguez and Kenneth Glenn. My son Eric manages Rodriguez in his spare time–they are good friends and work for the same Fortune 100 company, Eric in finance and Corey in product safety–and Eric is co-promoting the fight card.

We will be there along with a number of friends to cheer Corey on. There are several posters for the event; this is the one that features Corey “Collateral Damage” Rodriguez, who is currently ranked in the top 100 or so middleweights in the U.S. Eric says he belongs in the top 50:

If you live within driving distance of the Twin Cities and are interested in attending the event, it begins at 7:00 on the 26th. The Hyatt is at 1300 Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis. If you want to reserve tickets, go here. Pre-sale general admission is only $30. If you reserve tickets on that page, Corey will get a little credit. If you decide to attend, please do look me up.

I have written several times, here, about how exciting live boxing is. Still, we have a little trepidation about watching a guy we actually know get hit. His fiancé will be at our table, too, so we will be keeping our fingers crossed. It should be a great night of boxing. If you live nearby, you ought to think about joining us.
