Is something happening here?

A reader writes to comment on this Wall Street Journal story hidden behind the Journal’s jealously guarded subscription paywall:

The WSJ is reporting that Bob Goodlatte is considering exploiting some loophole in the law that allows an amnesty without necessarily calling it that (sounds familiar for Washington, doesn’t it? tricking the people to pass unpopular/destructive legislation pushed by special interests). If this is true, it’s a potential disaster for the country. However, it is potentially more open-borders WSJ/NewsCorp propaganda, cynically calculated to push Goodlatte in this direction. Either way, it’s worth publicizing to ensure this is as transparent as possible, and that the voices of reason of voters can proactively call Goodlatte’s office to offer their two cents.

Stay tuned for Mickey Kaus
