Wages of Obamacare

Obamacare is an enormous engine of destruction. Michelle Malkin reports that it has hit home personally, resulting in the termination of her chosen family health insurance plan. The loss of her plan as a result of Obamacare directly violates one of Obama’s many promises about Obamacare, all of which will be proven false many times over in the fullness of time. “Obama lied,” as Michelle puts it, “my health plan died.” The column posted on her site includes the ocular proof, as Othello called it. In this production, Obama plays Iago, though there is more involved than “motiveless malignity” (as Samuel Taylor Coleridge famously put it) and Obama has a supporting cast of thousands.

Also on the engine of destruction/falsehood front, Avik Roy has been awaiting the data necessary to calculate the impact of Obamacare on premium costs. The results are beginning to trickle in. Though accompanied by official happy talk, Roy reports that Obamacare will increase average individual-market insurance premiums by an impressive 99 percent for men, 62 percent for women. Roy’s long Forbes column today is, as always, must reading. It is, however, only a small part of Roy’s continuing coverage of the subject with respect to which we will stay tuned for Roy’s further adventures in Obamacare.

If only we had a free press in this country, Obamacare would be a bloody, unrelenting scandal, like Abu Ghraib, or Watergate. As it is, it is only business as usual for liberals and liberalism.
