Hockey-Stick_largeBrian Ward and I recorded Episode 64 of the Hinderaker-Ward Experience tonight, featuring an extended interview (pretty much the whole show) with Mark Steyn. Mark is embroiled in litigation with the detestable Michael Mann, inventor of the infamous hockey stick. We had a remarkably candid conversation about what is going on in that politically-motivated and mysteriously-funded lawsuit, as well as the broader phenomenon of liberals trying to shut conservatives up, via everything from criminal prosecution (Dinesh D’Souza) to IRS harassment (The Friends of Abe and many others) to product boycotts (the Koch brothers) to bullying by elected officials (Andrew Cuomo). While this kind of thing has been seen in foreign countries at times when they were trending toward totalitarianism, it is unprecedented in America. The discussion was lively and, as is generally the case with Mark, funny even when the topic is deadly serious. I think you will enjoy the interview immensely.

We also awarded our Loon of the Week prize (democracy ending to thunderous applause) and This Week in Gatekeeping to the New York Times for its continuing mathematical illiteracy. The show wrapped up with some Super Bowl predictions, about which I can only say, don’t bet on them!

You can listen to the podcast by playing it right here, or you can go to Ricochet to download or subscribe to the podcast in various ways, or you can subscribe on iTunes or elsewhere. Or you can use Stitcher. There are many ways to experience the Hinderaker-Ward Experience, but I think the best is by subscribing on iTunes. That way, you never have to worry about missing an episode.
