The Democrats Are Begging For Money

They said it, I didn’t. This email went to Democratic Party supporters yesterday:

We’re out of people to email you.

In the last two days, you should have received an email from:

— President Obama
— Vice President Biden
— Nancy Pelosi

True. I received emails that ostensibly came from all of them.

That’s how important this is! We’re getting massively outspent by Republican groups. And we’re fighting desperately to turn it around.

Ridiculous. Democrats have the money advantage again this year, as they almost always do.

We’re begging, John. Can you answer the President’s call-to-action today?

MIDNIGHT DEADLINE: All Gifts Triple-Matched!

Donations are always triple-matched, so the Dems could get three-quarters of what they are looking for by simply going to Act Blue or whoever and asking for it. But they seem to see value in the desperate ritual that precedes every FEC reporting deadline.

Today this appeal came in from the Democrats:

See? Their word, not mine.

We’re still coming up short.

When we say we’re begging, we’re serious. We’re in serious danger of failing short here. If we don’t hit our goal for President Obama’s call-to-action, it will be a huge victory for Boehner’s Republicans.

John, we need you right now. Can you help?

MIDNIGHT DEADLINE: All Gifts Triple-Matched!

Given the inevitable triple-matching, as noted above, this seems to be more of a team-building exercise than a fundraising campaign. But still: would you say “we’re BEGGING” if you didn’t think you need to?

Soon we will find out whether the Democrats’ hysterical pleas were enough to snatch victory from the jaws of (fundraising) defeat. Somehow, I feel pretty confident the Dems will announce that their grass roots stepped up to the plate and dealt John Boehner and the tea party Republicans a devastating defeat.
