They’re Not the Jayvees Anymore…

In January, Barack Obama infamously referred to ISIS as a bunch of “jayvees.” During White House spokesman Josh Earnest’s briefing yesterday, Jim Acosta of CNN indulged in a bit of snark:

Let me ask you about something [the president] said back in January when he told the New Yorker when assessing the ISIS threat, he said that, “the analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if the JV team puts on a Lakers uniforms, that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant.” Is it safe to say that ISIS are no longer the “JVs”?

Earnest, a deer in the headlights, could only respond with a filibuster:

This is one more in a series of arrogant, ill-informed remarks that have come back to haunt Obama. But it is more than that: his dismissal of ISIS until it may be too late shows how out of touch he and his national security team are.
