The lying game [With Comment by John]

Kentucky Democratic Senate candidate Alison Grimes has expressed vehement opposition to Obama administration energy policy in the histrionic style to which we have become accustomed when Democrats need the votes of red state rubes. In his latest undercover project — the first of a series — James O’Keefe dispatched a team to Grimes campaign offices to seek out the truth of her opposition to Obama administration policies (video below).

O’Keefe’s team found Democratic operatives who expressed deep understanding of Grimes’s need to humor Kentucky’s great unwashed and dissemble in service of the higher good. The Democrats working on behalf of Grimes show bitter contempt for the views of their fellow Kentuckians and therefore profess sympathy with what they understand to be Grimes’s need to conceal her real views beneath clouds of dramaturgy.

Quotable quote, by Juanita Rodriguez of the Warren County Democratic Party: “She has to say that. But you know what? Politics is a game. You do what you have to do to get [elected]….It’s a lying game, unfortunately.”

JOHN adds: This is timely, as Grimes has a two-point lead over McConnell in the latest poll. One would think the O’Keefe video will put her out of business, but you never know.

Here is a prediction: I’ll bet Veritas has footage of Greg Orman staffers admitting that Orman is really a Democrat.
