Climate change: What can’t it do?

I believe the adage that nature abhors a vacuum applies to politics. Hillary Clinton has striking weaknesses as a candidate for the Democratic nomination for president. As she continues her death march to the Democratic nomination for president, the Democratic field lacks a plausible alternative to her. Bernie Sanders has demonstrated the market for such an alternative, but he is not the man. At this point in our history, a major party candidate cannot be an avowed socialist. Jim Webb is not the man; his views have essentially no constituency in the party. Martin O’Malley is not the man. He is himself a vacuum. Witness the video below, in which he attributes the rise of ISIS to the alleged phenomenon formerly known as global warming. Submitted for your approval:

Michael Warren has faithfully transcribed O’Malley’s deep thoughts in an interview with Bloomberg News (I added the [sic]): “One of the things that preceded the failure of the nation-state of Syria, the rise of ISIS, was the effect of climate change and the mega-drought that affected that region, wiped out farmers, drove people to cities, created a humanitarian crisis. It created the…conditions of extreme poverty that has [sic] led now to the rise of ISIL and this extreme violence.”

As for the vacuum, I think someone has to fill it. It could be Elizabeth Warren. It could be Joe Biden. It could be John Kerry, after he takes him as Nobel Peace Prize along with one or more front men from the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism and anti-Semitism. See Bill Kristol (below), thinking outside the box.

STEVE adds: I think O’Malley deserves a Power Line Green Weenie Award for this.
