“Pigs in a blanket”

The Black Lives Matter protest at the Minnesota State Fair included a frank expression of hatred of the police in the sickening chant “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon” (video below). The Star Tribune somehow missed this episode in its coverage of Saturday’s protest on Saturday, hours after the murder of Deputy Sheriff Goforth in Houston.

Protest organizer Rashad Turner helpfully explained that the chant is nonviolent; those are only words. He must think we’re stupid.

The chant fairly reflects the spirit of the times on the left. It’s the spirit of the Black Panthers and the worst of the sixties. See, e.g., the new book by Ta-Nehisi Coates and his numerous celebrants and acolytes among the liberal cognoscenti — one of the books that President Obama let it be known he took with him on vacation earlier this month.

As the leaden cliché has it, the silence on the left is deafening.
