Where I’ve Been, With Media Alert

If it seems like I haven’t been posting much lately, it’s true. I haven’t. I had a milestone birthday on Saturday, and as much family as we can muster these days–my wife, my son and his girlfriend, and one of my three daughters–spent four days in the land of sky blue waters. (If you are one of those who derive your aesthetic sense largely from beer commercials, you will get the reference.) More specifically, we were at our favorite resort on Lake Vermilion in far northern Minnesota. Vermilion is a big lake, over 61 square miles, and it is also a fun lake with endless bays and islands.

And lots of fish live there. My son, his girlfriend and I all caught walleyes too big to keep under the complicated DNR regulations that govern fishing. Here I am with one of them:

Happily, we also caught enough smaller walleyes (and a few bass and some sunfish big enough to keep) for a couple of epic fish frys.

I am always a little jealous of Steve’s videos taken by drones near his central California home–whales surfacing and the like. I don’t have a drone, and there are no whales in Minnesota, but these very short videos, taken from a pontoon boat on our way to and from dinner last night, may make up in brevity what they lack in action:

Now for the media alert: I will guest host the Laura Ingraham radio show tomorrow. The show airs live from 9 to 12 a.m., Eastern. You can go here to find a station in your area. If you miss the show live, you can get highlights via podcast on iTunes, and it also airs later in the day on various stations.

The show will feature a full lineup of guests, including Senator Rick Santorum and Tucker Carlson. Best of all, Scott will join me in studio to talk about Truth. If you can tune in, or catch it later in the day, it should be a fun show.
